John John Florence Big Wave Quad
DESCRIPTION
After a few near misses at what might have been the waves of John John’s life, he came to us with this design idea. "Let’s flip the normal quad set around, so the smaller fins are up front, for speed and the larger fins are in the back, for control. This should hold my tail in, while still providing enough stability with the G-10 construction to hold an edge down the line." The speed felt was next level. Full disclosure, this was for a specific huge left, with JJF riding on his backhand. In terms of forehand testing, runner-up at the 2023 Eddie can be referenced. Wave of his life, still pending, but it will be a Big Wave.
- Construction - G-10

I've tried them all; The Twiggy's, Billy Kemper's, G10 paddle quads, and now the John John Florence Quad fins, and they are my favorite by a landslide. I'm a goofy foot, so7'6 at Pe'ahi, Maverick's, Waimea- I'm on my backhand. I've felt a tremendous improvement in my surfing and my make rate since using these fins. I feel like I have the speed to make waves, and the board control on choppy faces now that I didn't have previously. These fins do work well for me frontside. I can project my bottom turn out further as well as hold the wall when I need them too. I've ridden them at Sunset as well in a smaller gun and they also worked great. I highly recommend.
