DESCRIPTION

The Freestone Control fin is a large size Speed Controlling fin with a Ride Number of 3.3. Jack rides this fin when the conditions are punchy and he needs a little more stability. Controlling speed is the key to survival in heavier surf. They are built from solid fiberglass panels with foils that are precision cut by CNC, then hand finished to perfection.

Smooth as buttah

Excellent all-around fin. I'm 180 and ride large fins in Hawaii. I ride the complete set stomach to 3 feet overhead. I swap out the side fins for the Tru Ames Merrick large fiberglass (more rake) on my step-ups in bigger surf, but keep the Freestone center fin. If you consistently surf under shoulder high go with Hayden Shapes HS1 which is very similar in template with smaller wave flex pattern.
