If Marvel came to us looking for a superhero to be made from the likeness of a professional surfer, Mark Healey would be our recommendation for the role.  A hard charging Hawaiian, Healey is an animal in massive conditions. He’s often the most aggressive surfer in the lineup, not in a hassling manner, but in the way he paddles for waves that no one else wants. In true goofy-foot fashion, he’s one of the few people in the world that wants to go left at Mavericks and Waimea Bay, waves anyone else would consider a right.

Healey has gained even more attention towards his career for what he does when his favorite big waves aren’t breaking. A well documented spear fisherman, Healey has scores of videos on his social media of him interacting with sharks as he catches his dinner. With a super human ability to hold his breath and keep a steady mind, Healey doesn’t have a trace of fear in the ocean. He fully understands the ocean is not man’s natural environment and respects the opportunity to enter it at his own risk.
